Hoggetowne 2000
It all began early Saturday morning , , , *bzzzzzzzzzzzzz* AAccckkk, , time to get up??
I bounded, ok, crawled, out of bed and prepared myself for the first day of my Faire Season , , wheeeeeeeee, , timetogotimetogo, ,

Saturday, start the coffee, take a shower, drink some coffee, do the other stuff in the little room and get dressed in garb, pins all in place, check the weather, pour a large cup of coffee for the road and zooooooom, , off we, err, I that is, just me today, go ! ! !

ok, , left, , right, , putter, putter, putter, , dang baseballcapwearingancients, , *pass* zoom, left, right, long straight, , *whistles happily* oops, stop sign, , errr,   right, left, fork to the right, , right, , left, , fork left, , left, , rightleftgooooooo, , fork right, , left, Hey, , Entrance Ahead, , left, , right,, park, , HEY, , waittadangsecond, , I'm one of the first ones here, , why do I have to park in the lot furthest from gate?? *whine done*

Very short line at this hour, , I got here how fast?? no wayyyyyyyy, , ok, , well, , maybe :)

A couple of garbed participants handing out programs, get in a little *get into character and BFA* ahhh, I'm Home ! ! !

Unfortunately there is no opening gate show, which hopefully will change in the future if the location permits. Enter the Faire, , nice gate, , ooohhhh, , The Wise guys in Robin Hood garb, , she still looks better than He does, , though I may be biased just a smidgen.

Ok, check the map, There, right there, Midsummer Knights Dream, the booth where Satyrsong will be found, so I head there first to introduce myself before the madding throng forms around them and they're too busy. Yeah, I'm first :) Get to meet Satyrsong and the other booth players, and play idly with a puppet or two. Satyrsong puts up a sign in sheet, , which I immediately signed and helped pin to the tent wall. Now if any others happen to make it to the booth we'll perhaps arrange to meet later. Ok, off to see some shows.

Lady Suzanne is my first stop, a Musical group, two guitars, and a bohdran with Suzanne doing the singing. Ahhh, she's getting ready to do a sing-a-long :) I like those.
First line, , got it, , , ok, all 6 of us in the tent have that one, Hey I know this song (All for me grog), Second line, but then she tricked us, she kept playing and I just naturally was singing along when she stopped, , about two words before I did, oops, , "Who kept singing??" ah oh, , a little kid pointed me out, , "You, , get up here! !" ooohhh, ,I gotta come up front, , to the stage?? and sing?? well,, I'm kinda shy, , but ok *chuckle* I ended up staying up there for the rest of the set, cuz I knew all the songs and she just kept me there, , NOT that I complained of course :) Needless to say, she's a charming lady and her ensemble was quite talented and a lot of fun, , I'll be stopping by for most of her sets both days.

Following Lady Suzanne is Giacomo the Jester, and nice comedy, not quite renfaire-14 rating, but Darn close to it, , a bit of comedy, some juggling, and a constant line of patter that had me rolling, , and close to tears I was laughing so hard. As his show came to an end one of the patrons came over and asked if I traveled with him to energize the laughs, , hrmmm, , guess maybe I was a little loud *g* but he was funnnn kneee :) No sir, I don't travel with him, , he has sharp knives, , I know better :)

Then, came, the Wise Guys. A nice act, excellent humor and their show is always an audience participation one, good guy, bad guy, damsel, and one filler type. Cute show, always a bunch of laughs, and I was glad I caught the first show since every following one was standing room only.

Back across to see who'd made it in to sign with Satyrsong, , what?? No one?? hmm, maybe a bit shy, , or the booth has been busy and they didn't want to interrupt, (which had happened to me the previous year so I did understand that may happen) Got to meet and play with a few more puppets, , *sigh* dang these things are cool. OOohhh, I can play with this one?? ok :) Thanks, , I used the controls to have one puppet, a dragon this time, to watch patrons coming up to the booth, or wandering by and I tried to get their attention with the puppet. Between gigging with the patrons, a little, and having fun showing them how they worked I figured so long as I didn't scare people away they'd let me play with the puppets for awhile. Ahhh, , time for more shows, , and maybe a bit to eat,

*wanderwander* ohhh, gypsies and belly dancers *drool* hehehe, the dance group was good, with nice accompaniment, the typical zills and doumbeks. A bit of lunch, and then time for the Living Chess Match. Like last year there was both good and, well, not so good as far as the fighting coordination. Maybe it's just that it is a one weekend event and so they don't have enough time to get really comfortable with each other and the routines for each fight, but it's good enough for entertainment and the verbal sparring is more what I enjoy anyway. I didn't stay for the whole show, as just a short walk away the Gypsy Guerrilla Band was performing , , music, , yes, , sit, , enjoy :)

*rummblerumble* ah, , tummy's talking, , lets feed it. ahhh fish and chips, my favorite standby meal at faire. and a drink, , waitasec, I forgot to bring my mug, , aacckkk, ,gotta plastic cup it today, , *note to self, bring mug tomorrow*

One nice item in this faire is there is a children's area where they have held an art faire from the local elementary schools with a renaissance theme and some of the displays are quite good for the young artists. In this area you can also find a series of milder entertainment, jugglers and comedy mixed together directed for a younger audience and very popular, , "Bunnies in Peril" will always crack me up so I idle in the back and chuckle loudly, as usual.

Back over to catch another of Lady Suzanne's shows, , my timing is a Little off, , but as I'm walking in she's asking who knows a song (again one I knew) and one of her show helpers, a charming lass named *Cupcakes* (for the obvious reason) is standing on a bench and sees me walking in and say's Loudly, *He Knows it! ! * so Back up front I go, *g* I could get to like this being on stage part, , side note, , Cupcake also used me to tease the crowd, , as she had a Bosombuddy (puppet) which she had named "boobie" and since she was standing on a bench, and about my height when she Wasn't on a bench "boobie" was right at eye level. Cupcakes line of patter runs along the lines of asking if you'd like to pet her boobie, , *sigh* I generally don't have a conversation, with those, errr, , boobies, , umm, no matter how I say it I don't think it'll sound right, , Anyway, she introduces boobie, much to the amusement of the audience.

After this set I wander among the games and see where I'll spend a good part of the next day when my wife and son are with me, the Games, knives, stars, and axes. Good patter from the gamers, and I checked to see if the Archery range was the same again.

This is my favorite archery set-up of any faire, because it's sponsored by the local SCA chapter and you shoot SCA War Arrows and live targets, which are SCA'ers in armour. The only downside is getting used to the aerodynamics of the arrows, with the rubber tips similar to the end of a badminton birdie so you can't actually hurt the targets. The idea is to hit them in the head and win a soda, which isn't all that easy to do, though it's not too terribly difficult either, after a couple ranging shots anyway.

Ok, back to Midsummer Knights Dream to play with puppets some more and see who else has been by there. *sigh* Still no other sign-ins, but it's busy enough that I can help demonstrate the various puppets and how they work to patrons while the crew in the booth do the real work of selling.

Aye milady, it's a puppet, you use this (demonstrates) to make it's head move up and down and from side to side, , , , This one is called a Bosom Buddy, , ummm, , what does that mean? well, , it's supposed to go in the front of your shirt *smiles innocently* , , Yes, , *there* , and the control then sticks out near the bottom of your shirt so you can control it. , , demonstrate?? ok, , put it in like this, , , , no, , you have to have the control go in first , , umm, , the plastic end, , no, , first, , it has to come out the bottom, (her male companion is enjoying my discomfiture way too much) nono, , here, , hold those to the sides, , *sigh* yes, ,*Those* , , ok, ,like this ::slips the control in and sets the unicorns paws on the neckline:: ok, let them go, , YES, , that's what I was trying to tell you, ,*BOSOM BUDDY*  uh huh, , that is what it means, , yes, , *blush*, , no, , , thank You! ! ::note to self, , help out at this booth whenever possible:::

Time for the closing sing, , Satyrsong offers to let me chaperone one of the puppets the next day and play with it all around the faire, , Cool, , I'll be by first thing in the morning to pick one up, , *hugs* and off to the sing, , , Not bad, , only about 10 people there for the sing, but still fun. Time to go home and prepare to come back in the morning.

(for the drive home just switch the stuff up above *chuckle*)

SUNDAY , , whattayamean it's after 8??? ok, ,  we'll be a little late, , I'll survive, , Back to faire for the second day. Neither wifee nor my son opted to go in garb, maybe next faire they will. I had explained that I was going to be allowed to play with one of the puppets and so soon as we arrived we headed to the booth to pick one out. I choose a winged cat with very good head movement and Satyrsong helped me get it settled in place while my son drooled over the other toys there. Oh Yeah, , if you make it by their booth anytime, at any faire, and they happen to have *Rigel* along, you havegottasee it. Way cool, and entertaining.

Off to wander the faire, , for me it was pretty much a repeat of Saturday, Lady Suzanne, Giacomo the Jester, Wise Guys, Living Chess Match, Birds of Prey, magic shows, jugglers, and then Lots of games *chuckle.*

For most of the day I amused and enticed patrons with the shoulder puppet, some of them wondered if it was alive, , and at one of Lady Suzanne's sets I had it's head bobbing along in time to the music and one lady at the back of the tent just stared openmouthed at it as it kept time to the music, , *chuckle* when I looked over at her she silently mouthed *is that Alive???* hehehe, , I smiled and shook my head, , and then went and showed her how it worked, , at which point she left, , hopefully to go buy one, , I don't know if it helped sales any, but I certainly had a Blast playing with it, letting little children pet it and scratch behind it's ears, (it moved easily enough that I could make it duck it's head like a real cat to get a better scratch behind the ears, , LOL , , I hope that there are parents mad now because their little dears just Had to have one of their own to show off and play with.

Ahhh, the day always comes to an end way too early, when it was time to return the puppet to Satyrsong , (and thank you again for letting me play for the day, *hugs*) I did get to play for a little bit with a couple patrons since wifee and son stopped for a couple last games of Knife Throw.

*sigh* the day ends,But I'm still on a high from the weekend, , getting to sing up front, play with those great creations at Satyrsongs, and, OH , , I managed to get Lady Suzanne to give me the words to a song I'd been searching for since I first heard her sing it a year ago. The song name is "Skin of Ale" and it's a great song for the Bards among us, , I'll be sending the words to the BardicRealm list soon :)

Ah well, future plans are changing, , doesn't look like I'll be making it to the next couple of Faires I had planned, , but hopefully the situation which requires me to miss faire will be cleared up soon and I can go and play again :)

On that note, I hope everyone has as much fun their first weekends this year, this is Snookum, signing off for now, but I'll be back soon as I can with more info on more faires.

Bay Area Renaissance Faire of Largo 2000
March 18/19

Saturday Morning, 4 am, hit the road, head south, west, southwest, south, west, etc, etc.

I wasn't expecting to make it across the state quite as quickly as I did, it was 246 miles, and I managed to make it in a smidge under 4 hours. Fortunately the gate was open early for participants, though they weren't checking to see if you were a participant arriving that early or not. *whew*

I even managed a breakfast stop on the way there, which had me coming arriving at the gate only an hour and a half before it opened, or about 8:30. Nice parking area, and the attendants seemed pretty relaxed, which I expected at that time of morning anyway.

Weather was looking very good, just cool enough to wear a cloak, well, draped back over my shoulders anyway. So I managed to change clothes inconspicuously in the parking lot, *g* since that's what everyone else was doing I could Hardly have been considered to be conspicuous doing it too, then settling down to wait for the ticket booths to open and then wait for gate.

Gate Pre-show - A few actors came out and were scattered among the crowd, which was a small crowd, and sort of hung out by themselves. I guess I had expected them to do a little audience interaction once they came out and mingled, but if they did I missed the majority of it. I did not watch all of the actors that came out and there may well have more interaction than I saw. The arrival of the Queen and then slightly later the King was well done, and both visible and easy to hear, *chuckle* especially that guy with the horn (Emrys Fleet I believe).

"Lay Open the Gates!" Yeah, ,time to play! ! ! ! With program firmly in hand and show schedule being perused as soon as I received it I began to wander past the morning meet and greet. I did assume that as a costumed guest I may attract the attention of someone who wanted to play but alas I wandered through without even an eyebrow being raised in my general direction, ah well, there will be time to play in the streets later.

As I head on a clockwise circuit of the faire I happen across Giacomo the Jester beginning to hawk for his show at 10 and 30, *G* Yes yes I'll be there , the stage immediately ahead is it?? Aye, I'll be there, , why yes, , I did bring my laugh with me, ,*veg* You'll hear it I'm sure, just do something funny, , like he'd have Any trouble with that. If you haven't caught his show he claims it is an act of juggling, magic, and more. The magic's not bad, the juggling is good, , and the more, , makes me Laugh every time.

After Giacomo's first show is the ever hilarious Danny Lord's show on the same stage, my laughs gonna get a workout this morning I can tell already. How he can manage to keep an audience the way he does with his act always amazes me, plus he's dammm good at his style, no speaking, all gestures and an occasional sound is all he needs to hold the attention of the audience and to entertain in a Most delightful way :)

I make note of when Danny's other shows are so I can be sure to catch another couple of them, along with Giacomo's again as well.

I wander a bit, and come across the *Wise Guys* prepping for their show at the Legend Stage, which rather resembles a ship run aground. They always have a great patter and brings the audience into the action, well, actually, they use the audience AS the action so I guess that only makes sense then *duh* I've seen them at a couple of different faires and will be sure to catch their act here as well since they're in a Pirate Motif for this one.

As I wander around I'm looking over the booths and vendors, , From what I'd been told I expected to see things in a rather dilapidated condition, which was not at all the way I'd describe the buildings ( the stages could have used a bit more sprucing up here and there though.)

After making a tour around the site, and running across Emrys Fleet and his trained rat show *guffaw* gads he is good, a tough bit to work but his running patter and familiar interaction with the audience is a blast to watch and be a part of. I grab a quick lunch of fish and chips, (makes note to not do that again) and head over to get a seat for the first chess match of the day.

Audience warm up is very lacking, though eventually it gets better it began with one person dealing with one section of the audience and telling the rest of us to just wait and be patient, , *sigh* I never did follow directions well. After about 15 minutes of this another couple of participants show up and start working with different sections of the crowd. Our section is advised that we will be cheering for, , umm, , someone, (the lady who so graciously told everyone else who to cheer for forgot who we were supposed to be supporting, ah well, we shall find out in due time.)

Once the Chess match actually began, and this first match up wasn't truly a chess match, it was a tourney, no matter what the program called it, it was fairly lively. The matches were interesting, and even though I understand some of the combatants hadn't much actual training they did quite well, not many bobbles in the fights and quite entertaining.

Immediately following the umm chess match, I watched the Mud show. Now, if you're familiar with some of my previous reports you know I'm not a big mud fan generally speaking, but these clowns had me amused despite myself. Full Immersion Mud Entertainment. Yep, the mud show was FIME as far as I was concerned, so fime that I made sure to catch each and every one of the different shows they did since each had a different theme and between the 4 shows all three of the group got totally and completely filthy. *chuckle* have to watch for them again.

Right behind, and right after, the first mud show I caught the Washing Well Wenches show. Again a very entertaining couple of ladies. Not everyone has the same strain of humor, and I did notice a few patrons vacating the *spray zones* quickly. I'd think most people would know that if you sit in the first row, or sometimes the first couple of rows, you're going to be participating in the show whether you like it or not. *G* I was on the far edge myself.

A bit more wandering, listening to the musical talents of *As You Like It* for a bit, then some shopping and a general tour of the grounds I hadn't seen yet. In chatting with some of the vendors I found there were probably some issues to be dealt with between them, management, and the City of Largo regarding the faire. For an outsider to get as much info as I did on the problems, well, , I hope it was only because I'm not rude enough to interrupt them when they get into one of those lil tirades we'll call them. Overall I liked the variety of vendors, though I didn't see as much in the line of men's outfitting as I had hoped.

Suddenly I spotted a Gypsy with a violin wandering purposefully toward the stage where Emrys did his act. Being as I'm partial to violin music I followed her and got there in time to enjoy the musical talents of *Double Indemnity* who were also supported by the Burly Minstrels and Gypsy Trash in their set. Giacomo the Jester, and Loonie Lucy (who I'd also seen wandering the streets) had a nice variety of music and I think I caught almost all of their shows over the rest of the weekend.

After Double Indemnity's set I headed back to catch another Danny Lord show and then the final set of the day with Double Indemnity again at the Swan Stage. Following that I needed to head out and try to meet up with Aredhel. . . *ringring* hello?? is that you?? Yes, , this is me, , *chuckle* We had hoped to get together for dinner and as she was close enough to the site and an easy location for even me to find, I head over there. She cooked a nice dinner, and then during the chatting and checking out her computer setup (yeah I'm a geek) I managed to fall asleep sitting up on the couch, , oops, , sorry milady, , that was Not intentional, ,

Sunday Morning, , yeah, I was left sleeping on the couch, which didn't amuse the other inhabitant of Aredhel's home which was Emma the Cat. I didn't even tease her, , Emma that is, Aredhel I did tease, *g* We ran out to pick up a couple things from the store and get breakfast before heading to the Faire site for the Day. People weren't too surprised to see folks in garb, and we probably told 20 people that there were still 3 more weekends to go so they still had time to go see it. Breakfast was good and filling, and after consuming several cups of life restorative (otherwise known as coffee) we headed to the faire.

Excellent timing, about 15 minutes before gate, and the weather looked just right to wear my cloak again. Have I ever said I like my cloak?? No???? wow, , ok, , I like my cloak *g*

Another nice opening show, again very little interaction between the participants and the patrons in the crowd, but I didn't expect it to be different then it was the day before. Once inside we did manage to give the *SilverOtterSalute* to the King and he rushed over to give Aredhel a hug and I was then included in the Royal greeting when she introduced me to him. He did have quite a bit to attend to and wasn't able to spend much time in idle chit chat, but we thought we may catch him later and have more time (unfortunately our paths didn't cross again except at the chess matches later on so we didn't get time to chat, but there's always next year)

I dragged Aredhel over to where Gypsy Trash had one of her sets first ting in the morning. Getting going with fiddle music and gypsy philosophy isn't a bad way at all to begin the day.

I was under Very strict orders to drag Aredhel out of any jewelry shops, and I tried my best, but she did manage to sneak off at least once during the day LOL, like I could be expected to keep a wench from acquiring a pretty bauble or two.

The day went much the same as the previous day, though with a charming companion this time. She hadn't heard Double Indemnity before, so we made sure to catch their sets again, along with a couple of Danny Lords shows, and Giacomo of course. She'd never seen the Wise Guys routine so we got nice seats to watch them, , , and here was the one single downside and a point I'm going to rant about for a moment.

The Wise Guys show was great as usual, but the conduct of one of the Gamers, the guy in the bright yellow shirt with black hair and a moustache and goatee as a matter of fact, Decided that he would make abusive comments regarding the Wise Guys show. Well, I wasn't amused, if nothing else I expect the entire group at faire to act as a team in entertaining the patrons. To intentionally distract and verbally abuse a show that was IN PROGRESS at the time is an unforgivable offense. To you sirrah, should you happen to read this, I know you from both the Hoggetowne and Ringling faires, you have lost my patronage at all of your games, and the patronage of my son, and I shall make it a point to come up and remind you loudly at any faire I see you at that your conduct is that of a lower life form. I shall also inform the management of any faire at which I see you of the manner in which you support your fellow participants. The point of his verbal abuse was that the Wise Guys used amplification in their show, and that HE didn't need any amplification to be heard over them. Yes, they do, in a very unobtrusive way, and though it may not be period it made their show much better since they did have to contend with the gamers booths being immediately behind the stage they performed on. If I wasn't enjoying the other aspects of the faire this one incident would have ruined it for me totally. As it stands you can tell that I'm still a bit miffed at this individuals conduct.

To offset that incident, I must say that by simply being aware of an opportunity to amuse the general populace, or at least it amused me, is a wonderful thing. You see, Aredhel has one of those cute clip-on tails that was attached to her belt, and she wanted me to take a picture of it for her, , , , well, , I did, and then loudly proclaimed how happy I was to finally get a shot at her tail. *innocent-kinda grin* I must say, it did attract attention from , , oohhh, , about 20 or so feet around us with the Most amusing kinds of startled looks and grins. Of course I then had to also loudly state that she even Asked me to take a shot at , , err, I mean OF her tail. . *veg* Thank you for That Kodak moment Aredhel, , hehehehehehehehehehehe.

The remainder of the day was great, shopping, having drinks, well, lemonade for me and whatever Aredhel was having. We ended our day at the closing set of Double Indemnity at the Swan Stage and then headed out to have dinner before I had to drive back to Jacksonville yet that night.

I did manage to meet a couple other AFRian's , , Hello Tia :) and , , umm, , *uhoh* the other IWG member whose name has totally slipped me now. AND a welcome to the IWG to the Queen of the Largo faire, I understand that she is a recently joined member.

One other note, and it truly made me feel wonderful. Danny Lord took the time to thank me for attending so many of his shows and bringing my laughter with me. That touched me deeply, not only that he noticed, but that he recognized and appreciated my very minor addition to his show, which was my kind of loud chuckle that tends to carry and inspire more laughter. Even if he hadn't thanked me I'd be sure to see his act at any faire I attend where he's performing. I'm hoping he'll have a site soon that I can link too so others can get acquainted with him and his act.

Whew, long day, Aredhel drove us to an eatery called the *Red Lion* where we found a great treat. There was live entertainment there as well, and the band was Much too good to simply be playing bar gigs, or at least the sets they did while we were there showed that they would eventually be discovered and a name act. If you want to know more about them you can check out their website *HERE*

That ended the day, and I changed back to dane's for the drive home, which was pretty unremarkable as compared to most of my road trips.

I'd like to thank Aredhel again for the spot on her couch, and apologize to her also for leaving behind a very damp bathroom, , I swear it wasn't me, , really I will, , just listen :)

North Florida Renaissance Festival
April 1st and 8/9 2000

Wifee had decided that we needed to go to the festival on April 1st, just in case things came up the next weekend and she and my son couldn't make it. As it turned out things did indeed arise which prevented my wife and son coming along the next weekend, but that's another story *g*

We left a bit late, and did miss the opening gate show, but arrived shortly after and made our way into the site. Wifee and son had opted to go in regular clothes rather than garb, but as usual I had my mine on, though again I had forgotten my leather mug *sigh* must be a first day of each faire thing for me, forgetting that thing. Anyway, after glancing at the schedule we made our way around the site catching a couple shows here and there, playing at the archery booth, *swwwwoooooosh---thak!!!* Nice shot Dad ! !, *chuckle* well, my persona Is based on a character that should know how to shoot. Among the shows we caught were: To the Hilt, Sir Isaac Fawlkes, the Joust, Birds of prey, a Mudde Show, Axel the Sot, Moxie Puppets, Dragon Tails, a couple of chess matches, and Cast in Bronze. Wifee's favorite was Cast in Bronze which is a trailer mounted carillon (spelling?) of brass bells which were played by a person at a console with levers to actuate the hammers (clappers) for each bell. It was loud but it was also an incredible sound. My son's favorite show was the final one we saw, which was the archery tournament. The winner had selected my son earlier as his sponsor and after he won the tourney he gave CJ (my son) the winning arrow, which was handmade and hand fletched, *wow* that arrow will soon be hanging on the wall in his room.

The other thing that Wifee loved was meeting Nika at the Fellowship Foundry Booth and picking out a goblet. We'd looked at what was set out on the front of the display and wifee didn't see exactly what she was looking for when Nika reached behind her and held out an all pewter goblet with gold flowers along the stem and up the sides of the goblet, which is precisely what my beloved spouse wanted, , soooo, , *Sold* now I'll have to make some garb for wifee to match the beauty of the goblet.

On to the weekend of the 8th and 9th, , I left early to be sure to be waiting there when the other otters would be arriving, , and sure enough, after a short period I saw 4 of them approaching. . . . *waits until they have walked past me and then I raise my voice slightly* "So, you're not gonna holler *OTTER* ?"  hehehehe, , they all turned and then the taller wench says, , "And who are you?"  oh,, this is gonna be good, , "Well Allie, , they call me Snookum" at which point her eyes light up and I get the warmest welcome hug I've received in a long time *thanks dear* She then proceeds to introduce me to her brother Lou, in his scots garb, and to Rowland Grayhame and his charming spouse Mercie, also a wench *g* fortunately.

As I had noticed the previous weekend that there was a serious lack of Mead at the faire I had a package to deliver to Nika and as soon as the gate opened and we headed in I made sure to stop at the Fellowship Foundry booth and drop off the smuggled goods. *g* Which earns me yet another hug, , the day is looking positively Wonderful so far :) , , yeah, , I like hugs, ,  a Lot *chuckle*

We proceed to begin our wandering around the site, Allie is pointing out the similarities of the setup of the FlaRF site and this site as all of the fixed set pieces are the same in both locations. I am quickly finding out that the humor of innuendo is appreciated by all of us in the group and have the most entertaining time, for me anyway, boring them with my poor humor and attempts at witty remarks, , some of which even managed to elicit a chuckle or two, and in at least one case a long drawn out groan :)

Our first Show of the day is To The Hilt, did I mention that Casia(sp?) is one charming lady? *chuckle* It's all a matter of perspective you know. Anyway, I got to meet several people that Allie knew from the first FlaRF down in Deerfield Beach who also worked this event and had fun. We again wandered for awhile and ended up at the Chess Match area where we cheered for the side of Evil, which incidentally asked that we come back later and even offered to save our seats cuz we just sooooo good (LOL)

*quick check of the schedule* Hey, The Minstrels of Mayhem (AHEM) , , over that way --> lets go, , dash dash dash. I think we made it to all of their sets this weekend, I even managed to learn most of a new song or two. Now it's time for lunch, , foood, , and drinkies. Oh yes, one item which wasn't advertised, but only affects the Sundays, is that it's a Dry County on Sundays, no alkeehaul can be sold on Sunday. Bummer!

After lunch it is on to finish a complete circuit of the site. It was noted that as we finished the circuit that you had to turn to the left if you were going to head out the gate then, but if you went counterclockwise you'd end up heading straight out when you got to that point, not that it was a big issue, just an oddity that was noticed, by the odd so to speak hehehehe..

From here it's back to the Chess match, and then more musical needs. Of course a bit of shopping becomes necessary as well. Allie's brother got her a beautiful circlet of silver with a green stone set in the V at the front, and Mercie obtained a chainmail headpiece that are beautiful, , and a bit later Mercie also managed almost an entire new outfit at The Needle Fairy's booth, which was also about the time we got the first bit of rain, , Excellent timing :)

We also ran into a few IWG members working the faire. The amazing thing about that is none of them seemed to know that the others were there. So I made it my business to tell each of them, as I ran across them again, about the others I had met and where to locate them. And as you all are aware that I am so lousy about keeping track of names, I tried to jot down their wench numbers (and I forgot a couple of those as well) but I tried. The wenches I met were: 1071 - Lady Sarah? who is a dancer/performer, 1152 - (oops, didn't get the name) working the Ale Stands, umm, *bad Snooks* no name Or number, but working one of the Chainmail booths, and of course Allie and Mercie attending.

Unfortunately I lost track of Allie and group when they went out to put the extra stuff they had accumulated through the day in the cars, which was also about the time that the sky opened up with a short but torrential downpour. I hid out at the Fellowship Foundry booth during the onslaught of water from the sky, at which time I found that the mead I brought for Nika had somehow drained out of the bottle during the day *gee, how'd That happen?* hehehe, so I made a note to bring another bottle for Sunday.

After the rain let up a bit I headed out to drive back home, not that it was a long drive, but the rain was headed in that direction so I wanted a bit of extra time in case the roads got bad. Made it home ok and prepared for Sunday's return.

Ahhhh, Sunday morning, back to faire, , YEAH ! ! !

It must have been a timing thing, karmic timing that is, because Allie, Lou, Mercie, and Rowland all arrived just a few minutes after I did and we parked almost next to each other. Wandering into the site again we determined to catch the shows we had missed the previous day. This is when I also found out that Mercie, and her Rogue Rowland, had Never Ever tasted mead before, , welllll, , we could fix that easily enough. As I had another bottle to drop off for Nika I'd let her know we'd need to indoctrinate a couple of mead-virgins around lunchish time *G*

Today was the Day before Allie's birthday *happy birthday yet again dear-Hug and smoochonnacheek* and she was in for a few surprises throughout the day. The folks from The Needle Fairy more than impressed her with the gifts she received and watching her, Allie that is, blush was entertainment in itself for the rest of us. *chuckle*

Along with catching all of the Minstrels Of Mayhem (AHEM) shows we also made it to one of Sir Isaac Fawlkes shows, and also caught The Daring Develini's show. Meeting and chatting with Sir Isaac and then being recognized, as AFRians at least, by Allison and her partner made for more entertainment. Yes Allison, I now understand Near and Far. *chuckle* And of course today was the day to catch the performances of "The Naughty Nymphs" too. Right after the Naughty Nymphs we were in the perfect spot, and time, to stop at Fellowship Foundry again and sample the mead.

huh? It hasn't even been opened yet?? *chuckle* ok, where's the cork screw, we can fix this, twist twist, , POP!  pour pour, , watch Mercie's face at her first sip of mead, and this was a straight mead, no flavors added today, wow, , now That's a smile, , Rowland samples it and Allie gets a bit also, , Hey Sis, , they like your mead, , I'll need to swipe, errr, , beg you that is, for more of it next time I make it up there.

Off we go to get lunch, , nothing remarkable, but some good edible food which even I was in need of today. Of course I'd like to have seen a breadbowl soup booth, but the sandwiches were nice and filling.

More music and entertainment filled out the day and we finally came time for the Pub Sing, *sigh* Being closing weekend for this first year faire there was an amazing number of folks at the closing sing. Sad as it always is to meet for the final time of a run at any particular faire I had many things to be happy about as well. Meeting my lil Towerwench Allie, and her brother Lou, plus their friends (and mine too now) Rowland and Mercie. Seeing new acts and people, getting better acquainted with some I had a chance in the past to meet in passing *hugs to Nika.* Meeting more performers and AFRians. I was also privileged to make the acquaintance of Prince Wulf, and his fiancé, who incidentally became a Garbed Member of the faire going community at this event, as well as her son. Hrmm, , there was also another lass with Prince Wulf, umm sister? or was it the fiancés sister? *sigh* me and my mind, , and me and my lousy note taking, , I forgot I was giving myself a test later (as usual).

As always I had a totally wonderful time and am looking forward to meeting Rowland, Mercie, and Lou at future events. Take care my friends, , until the next faire ! ! !

GaRF 2000 Memorial Day Weekend

What a weekend :)

Beginning at 3 A.M. at home making final preparations to leave and head to the GaRF site. I ended up leaving about 3:30 and made pretty good time, arriving a mere hour and a half before gate *chuckle* ah well, plenty of time and not too many people to have to change in front of in the parking lot this time. By the time I get ready and lock up the extra stuff in the car I see a couple of folks peering at me curiously. Low and behold it is William the Whip, and Wench Maeve. I receive my first favors of the weekend and give them the new ones that I am making as well. Opening show is as good as usual with music and an introduction of the main players of the faire staff.

Gate opens and it's on to sign in and begin to plan for the day. On the way to sign in, which took me a bit to find, I happened across a Pyrate and got a hug, Hiya Peg :) , then Kat wandered through and waved a cheerful hello as the Pyrates were headed out for an early gig. I continued to wander quickly around looking for Ann and the Sign-in sheet. I ended up walking past it twice and even then William the Whip ended up catching up with me and heading me in the proper direction. Greet Ann *hug and smoochonnacheek* then I sign in and loiter about in the area to see who else is in early and stops by to sign up. Wow, Lots of folks here bright and early, I get to meet Dhannti, her hubby, a lurker friend of hers, who incidentally will be coerced into attending more Florida Faires next year *hehehe*, and also Khitata, who may blend well but is a charming lass none the less. After making and passing out a few more favors it is time for me to wander in search of the first Pyrates Royale gig at the pub. While enroute I happen across Helga the Horrible, a resident Pirate Captain at the faire, and get to chat for a couple moments as she is headed to another gig and I'm headed into the pub.

Maeve and William the Whip are already in the pub and have vacant seats right up front, so I head up and get an Excellent seat to view my first Live Pyrates Show.

>>>We Interrupt this report for a PLUG<<<  Dang, I already had both of the CD's the Pyrates Royale have and was expecting a good show. But I was wrong, it wasn't simply Good, it was Fabulous! I realize that many of you know the Pyrates already, but I just Have to plug them here as well. Between the raw energy, their musical talents, and their ability to pull the audience into their show, , well, , travel LONG distances if you must to see them perform, you will not be disappointed. >>>end of plug<<<

Yup, they are That good, or even better, I want to thank the Pyrates for exceeding my expectations and for being such great people as well :)

errr, where was I? oh yeah, pub, music, etc. Ok, back on track. After the Pyrates show I enjoyed the musical talents of the Phoolish Phweesome for a bit and then returned to loiter near Ann's booth to see who else had arrived and drop off my cloak as it had become Way too hot to wear it *sigh* . While in that area I found two lasses wandering around the booth admiring the cool glass, , Megan? I approached and emulated a rogue for a moment, *a gentle kiss on the hand* "And who might be kissing my hand?" the lass asks. "Tis but a Snookum milady," I reply and then get a Great big hug! ! ! Wheee I like this :)  Pass out a couple more favors and collect one from both Megan and her charming daughter Cordelia (she'll be a heart breaker one day.) The three of us then lurk and linger near Ann's booth until Rowland and Mercie arrive, and have a friend along as well (Hiya Duncan) then we all head back to watch another set of the Pyrates at the Pub, where incidentally Peg managed to send ME into the heehee zone *chuckle* I owe you one Peg, , and I'll get you back. Also in attendance that day, and at the pub at that moment were Debocaps and her hubby Beamus who were handfasted at GaRF last year. For those of you who use the Yahoo Chatroom Renaissancefun, it was Debocaps who first started it and I finally got to meet her and her hubby, Very nice people, I'll have to arrange for them to meet more of the AFR gang next time we all meet there.

A bit of wandering and mostly enjoying music for the rest of the day with sets by the Phoolish Phweesome, Lochanside, and three lasses called Serafemme. And of course the rest of the Pyrates sets as well. Then it was time for the PubSing! What a glorious way to end a fabulous day at faire.

Saturday night was spent near the pool and then a pizza party in Rowland and Mercies room along with Duncan and Megan. Apparently we had worn Cordelia out for she stayed in her own room and let us play and chat *g*.

Sunday Morning, gads it's early, , Hey, it's still DARK out, , *roll over and go back to sleep* zZZzzzZZZzzz Ok, time to get up, get ready, and peek outside. Rain and cooler temps for the day, I'm a happy Snookum! (Of course the rain didn't last very long but it did help to cool the day off)

Once I have everything ready I get the morning coffee *ahhhhhhh* ok, I'm alive now, lets see who else is awake *veg*. Not long after that I hear people stirring around in Rowland and Mercies and hang out with them until it's time to head to the faire for the day. We get there in plenty of time to catch the opening gate show, and a picture of Rowland on Cap'n Helga's knee *chuckle*. Once inside it's back to Ann's and starting a new sign-up sheet for the day. People wander in slowly for the day, and I get to meet a few more AFRians, including, much to my surprise, Shadow who had driven down the night before. Shortly it is announced that we have enough folks for invasion pins (whee get to add another dangly to the pin)

I managed to catch several other shows today, including Helga the Horrible's plea to the crown regarding her title of *The Horrible* unfortunately she failed in her petition But instead received a new title, "Helga the Hostile" which seems fitting in this situation. After seeing that I caught part of Offutt the Minstrels show, and some of Tuey's act. I also managed to see Broon in his crowd pleasing entertainment style *chuckle* Then it was back to the pub to listen to music the rest of the day and just relax out of the wandering crowd. That worked well until someone accidentally stepped on the back of my cloak nearly taking my head off *gag* take this thing off and store it under the table!

Music and entertainment made up for the rest of the day, and the PubSing was even better than the previous days, which made for a wonderful wrap up to my weekend as I had to head back home Sunday night. I missed meeting Norm and his traveling companions but hope to get another chance later this year.

Another plug I have to make is for the CD of Darcy's which I picked up this weekend and have been listening to as I write this up. Excellent music and I'm very happy I picked this CD up. You can get your own from her by going to her site here and following the links.

An uneventful drive back home, thankfully, and then it's time to begin planning for the next faire, which is as yet undetermined but it looks like perhaps Bristol or MNRF this summer.

Faire thee well my friends, until next time, have a safe road.

Bristol Renaissance Faire 2000
July 23 & 29

No, the dates listed are not a typo. I went on Sunday the first weekend, and Saturday the second one. But that has little to do with how much fun I had. On with the tale, , ,

Sunday 23 July, 6:00 am, wha? no, imawake, really, k, shower-coffee-dress, *rubs eyes* more coffee. Okay, that's much better, where's my ride? My sister and Brother-in-law were a bit late, but forgivable since they were driving me to Faire *g* so at 7:15 we finally hit the road and headed south. I am also, since I'm a passenger for a change, able to whine about how long it's taking and ask repeatedly if we're there yet, *sigh* hadda do it, it was expected of me *chuckle*.

We arrive just as the ticket windows are opening, which is good timing, and are parked directly in front of the gate just 2 rows back. Finish dressing, pinning on the various pins and favors I have collected so far this year, and then grab a spot in line, get tickets, and wait patiently for the gate pre-show. As always the gate show is interesting and serves to gather the crowd and keep them out of trouble for a few minutes. I did spot Gaffer Applewright out and about during the gate show but wasn't able to move over to see him yet, made note to be sure and track him down once inside.

*Open Wide the Gates* Yeahh!!!!!!! Time to go in and play. As soon as we headed in and got the map, nice map for this faire btw, we headed to Camelot Fans to say hi to Olde Hippie and family, and there we got directions to find Yarak Inc's booth so I could meet Laura and get a map showing where other AFRians were located within the grounds. After a quick meeting with Laura and getting to see her hawk Mojo, who is beautiful, I made my way back to meet Mistress Mari Ellen, who I had missed meeting last year. On to tracking down some of the others listed on the map, beginning with Marita-Beth at Pendragon, , *saunters into Pendragon* "Good day, I am seeking Marita-Beth, , could you point her out to me?" hrmmm, seems she's out wandering and getting her hair done, ok, we'll be back later on , thanks :)

Ok, grab a bite to eat and catch a few shows. Beginning with Dirk and Guido The Swordsmen, a good show, and it gets us seats at the Cheshire Action Stage so we have nice seats for the first showing of Testaclese and the Sack of Rome by Sound and Fury, dem boys from the coast *chuckle* Excellent show, and the first time my sis and bro-in-law had seen them live (they had custody of my video copy for a couple months earlier in the year and had been looking forward to seeing it Live and in Person) As always I laughed myself nearly hoarse with their antics and humor. Following SnF we headed back to the stage next to Yarak and caught Molly and Tinker, whose show included even more humorous bickering between the two as well as the fun music they always have. We keep our seats and follow that show with the Minstrels of Mayhem (Ahem!), good show guys, have to catch a later show you do along with Craig.

A trip back to Pendragon, actually I'd stopped in 4 more times between then and now only to find Marita was still out wandering *chuckle*, This time however, she was in. After quickly introducing myself, and then delivering the message to her from the Mead goddess, which included a bit of groveling and entertainment, I received the comment that she had been expecting me, but had not been warned of my charm, *g* now who was flattering who I ask.

We then catch most of Minstrosity's show at the Thistlecot , and distracting them as I work on one of the favors I am passing out, (not a bad distraction, just an amusing one), and I get to meet Josie-Marie Thane and see Wendy again) and finish wandering about the realm. I manage to stumble across James Sweetland, Hi again :), and get up to date on how his book is progressing, it is amazing what is caught later on even after the editors have gone through it, but that's why there are multiple stages in getting it done I suppose, better to catch it now rather than later.

In all my wandering I had yet to spot an elusive and wily lass known as Squeak, or more accurately I had spotted her once in the food court but by the time it registered and I turned back to look she had vanished, hrmm have to keep my eyes peeled better.

Throughout my wanderings I had bumped into, and been pleased to again see Robyn and his escort, who incidentally is much cuter than Robyn, but then I may be a bit biased *chuckle*. I hadn't spotted many others yet, but was also on the look-out for Clisto and his group of scots, or english depending on which mood he was in *g* but again I had yet to come across him either.

A few of the things that always are highlights for me at Bristol include sitting and listening to the Wind Chimes and losing myself in the music they create, checking out the variety of wares and spending a bit of time watching the folks in Thistlecot working at period crafts and creations. I also finally manage to track down Gaffer Applewright and am able to spend a few minutes getting acquainted with him, which is a great joy for me to watch him at his work, and also have my sis and bro-in-law see the apple trick. Needless to say they were indeed amazed and charmed by Gaffer and his ability to interact with the passing crowd. I asked if he would still be here the next weekend, which is when the rest of my family would be there, and found that it was a maybe, but I should keep my fingers crossed that he could talk Gammer into another weekend here.

Following my sisters rule of completing an entire circuit of the faire prior to settling into a true shopping spree we returned to several of the leather shops in search of the *perfect pouch* which, unfortunately we didn't find, though a couple came real close. Of course we had to stop and see Danny Lord's show, under the name of Polo's Hit and Run Comedy, though it was the ever make me laugh Danny *chuckle*. As always, at his shows, I was tickled and amused throughout and again applaud his comedic talents for his silent routine(s).

Bro-in-law and dear sister were beginning to fade out at this point, so though it was early we headed for a final shopping and peering at the goodies run, while I kept my eye's open for the folks I had missed this trip. It was at this time when I again came across Robyn, and his lovely escort, who informed me that Squeak was looking for me and would be at the final SnF show, which started at 5 of the clock, *checks watch- umm, it's 5:14 now!* I quickly thank him and tell my sis and bro-in-law to meet me in the food court later, and made my way calmly while nearly running boldly, back to the Cheshire Stage to find Squeak. ::dashdashstumbledangroottripsprawl-no I'm ok I meant to do that-dashdasharrive::Whew, I made it, shows still going on :) *looks for a cute lass with a bandolier of clothespins* hrmm, not here, *spots James again and sits to watch the rest of the show and perhaps spot Squeak in the crowd yet.* As the show ended to the usual tumultuous applause I had yet to spot her, but I waited just a few moments when lo, she did appear. *BIG HUGS* Very pleased to finally meet, and chat with, yet another lovely lass I have only spoken with electronically. (actually I had met her in passing at Scarby last year, but for but a moment as she was about to begin a show, so this was truly a first *meeting* so to speak)

Much to my pleasure, as it turned out, Squeak had not yet met some of the denizens of Bristol and so I was allowed the privilege of escorting her to their locations, quick stops by Laura Kirby's, and an introduction to Mojo as well, stopping by for a greeting with Mistress Mari Ellen, and a quick dash over to Camelot Fans to meet Olde Hippie and his family. She and I had to part at this point so she could catch up to some of her friends and arrange to get her things for departing with the SnF boys to Chicago. A short meeting, but my pleasure was great to have spent it with her. I thank you for your time milady, and shall keep bugging my muse to see if something will yet surface for you.

I meet back up with my sis and bro-in-law in the food court, were they have managed to do some serious damage to an ice cream thing, and my sis is drooling over this guy in a leather barbarian outfit. Oh yeah, I forgot about him *chuckle* all my sisters are affected that way by him. As I turned back around my gaze swept past a familiar figure, no, not that the figure was familiar, just the person, CLISTO! ! ! Another time I deliver a message to him involving a hug and smoochonnacheek (hehe, see Danicia, told you I'd deliver it for you). He and I must have been going in opposite circles all day long to have missed each other, but we managed to catch up quickly and I assured him I'd be back the following Saturday.

Now with the Drum Jam going on full force we did indeed make our way back to the gate and head north. A most wonderful day of Faire for me, and I looked forward to returning the next Saturday.

(to be continued soon with the next Saturdays events)

Bzzzzzzzzz-Saturday Morning, 28 July, 2000. Very early *chuckle* OK, lets go, everyone dressed? Got your extras(garb things to still be put on when we arrive) ? Right, ok, in the van, kids in the back, parents in the middle, , errr, oh yeah, I have to drive today. Kewl, that means I get the front *g*. Head south, hrmm, the rest of them are asleep again, , sheeesh, oh well, least it's quiet. *drivedrivedrive* Hey Kewl Sign ::Theresa-Next Exit:: Have to try and get a picture of that one, , hehehehe, maybe next trip south.

*An hour and a half into the drive* "Can we pull off at the next exit? need to use the restroom." Hey, you were supposed to do that before we left, , *sigh* parents, what can you do. Ok Dad, we'll stop. . . . . *chuckle* just getting me back for when I was a kid I suppose, fair enough.

Soon enough we are pulling into the gate, we get parked a bit further away today, but not a bad spot. After finishing garbing up and distributing the coupons printed out for 2 bucks off each adult ticket and on to the ticket booth and trying to find the others we're meeting here this morning. It is a small gathering of the family and friends, , Lets see, , Mary, Mike, Mik, Michelle, Pam, Neal, Jen, Jen2, Mik's friend, Me, Wifee, Son, Niece, ummm, 13, , yup, that's all of us :)

As we watched part of the pre-gate show, I was very happy to spot Gaffer out and about in the crowd, he must have talked Gammer into one more weekend :) Yeah!! As he made his rounds of the crowd we were fortunate enough for him to be stopping by and my family was privileged to become acquainted with both Gaffer and his special method of meet and greet with the apple trick, with the number of people with us it actually took two times of demonstrating the apple trick to get everyone to see it but with his ready wit and entertaining methods he made the whole days trip worthwhile then and there. * Thank you again Gaffer, my family will remember meeting you for a long time to come*

LAY OPEN THE GATES ! ! ! Wheee, , time to play again :)

Since I'd been here last weekend and had kept my schedule we had preplanned several of our stops and so we entered and immediately headed for the Midsummer Stage to start the day with the Minstrels of Mayhem (Ahem!). Stopping in Laura Kirby's booth immediately following that show I was again able to meet Shadow, who I'd first met at GaRF earlier in the year, and my family got to be introduced to Mojo and enjoy viewing many of Laura's artwork creations of Raptors. Wandering and shopping, catching various shows, Dirk and Guido, Danny Lord, Minstrosity, (was nice to see all of them together this weekend), stopping in to see Olde Hippie and the family, (seems funny that I'd never actually gotten a hug from Catherine before, but hey I made up for it this time :) hehe). We had scheduled to meet the group in The Buttery area for lunch and rescheduling when to next meet up together. So on to the feedbag, , yummmmm, ,

Typical lunches again but here is where I also met back up with Allieeyore and she got to meet the rest of my family, who had not made it to faire with me when I last saw her. I was also able to meet her beau, Lou, *Great to meet you sir, look forward to seeing you again at future faires :)* *chuckle* and Laird Ian McTavish Finally got me back, by delivering a hug and smoochonnacheek to Me from Allie, , hehe, excellent going good sir, you do realize that now I'll have to come up with a message being passed on to you again to level the playing field as it were. And meeting Allie, , well, my son was most impressed :) *Wow dad, she's Tall!* hehe, yes she is son, and it's all charm :). He did not disagree with me , , smart lad , *chuckle*

I have of course been passing out the favors that I make, and I was glad to run into Shannon, of SnF Fame, and not only give him one, but one for each of the lads as well. I also, bumped into Shelby running about later with a lass who also received one, *g* can't have the lads better represented than the lasses now can we?

I'd also been by the Maspien booth a few times hoping to find Elf and Mike available. So far, unfortunately but also fortunate, it has been fairly busy in the booth and so I delayed interrupting them for the time being. I think that Bronxelf had to be happy that there was a platform atop the first story of the Maspien Booth as I spotted her up there several times looking quite happy with herself :)

AH well, I shall surely find a time when it's not too busy :) On with the rest of the day. As wifee and Melissa, the niece, were enjoying the shopping I wandered back to Laura's booth and listening to the music coming from the stage right next to were she was located. Of course my son had to spend some of the time in the various game booths, dart, knives, axes, and of course archery (which is his first favorite), *checks the time* egads, , we need to gather everyone up, it's time to get seats for Sound and Fury's show.

The following is not a paid advertisement, *g* but it's necessary to say anyway. This was the first occasion for many of the people with me to see Sound and Fury performing live. They had borrowed my video before and so were slightly familiar with the show, but seeing it in person is sooo much more satisfying of course. The first performance is Testaclese and the Sack of Rome, followed by an audition performance, directed to the Bristol staff but shared with the entire audience, of Romeo and Juliet, the First Draft. Ahhh, my tummy hurt, between the two shows I haven't laughed so much at any single seating of any show. (Yes, I did remember and remind everyone to pee before seeing these shows, especially since we were seeing them back to back) For the record, I and my family, and the assorted extras with us, enjoyed the performances and will all look forward to seeing future presentations of the boys on stage. If you are a faire promoter and are reading this, Hire these guys, you can not go wrong with the presence they bring to your faire, nor will you find a nicer bunch of fellows either. Once the shows were finished and it was time to fill the hats, we did find out that they Did have videos with them, so the family picked up some and I suspect that when the girls all go back for *Girls Only Weekend* which the family in Wisconsin does once per run, that they will be picking up a couple more copies.

With the day coming to an end, I once more made my way over to Maspien to see if there was a lull and I could stop in. Fortunately it seemed fairly quiet, and so I took out one of my favors, this one was even the matching color to the persons outfit, and approached Bronxelf. *Hi*, I said, *This is the kind of favor that I make, * and I held it out for her to slip her wrist through, , *There* I smiled *You now have the a favor from a Snookum* *chuckle* Her reaction was not exactly what I had expected, , her eye's widened, her head jerked up and she looked me square in the eye, , and , , well, , not too long passed and I could once again breathe, though I think the bruises on my ribs from the hug may be there for a while yet *g* I also got to meet Mike and spend a few minutes happily chatting with the two. *sigh* Hope I can make it north in March, but if not, I'll be tuned in Online for the event :)

That pretty much wrapped up my time in Wisconsin, while the rest of the family was gathering at the area of the drum jam I made my way through a few booths to say farewell, and collect a couple more hugs here and there *g* I'm a sucker for hugs ya know, and then it was a quiet trip home, well, after stopping at the Brat Stop for dinner that is.

We headed back to Florida the next day, arriving early Monday afternoon and then trying to get back into a regular schedule.

It looks like my next trip may be to CRF, hopefully the last weekend of October, , but you know how schedules can be. Faire well my friends, till we meet in the future :)
